What we do at the sink
- Cartridges, stems, seats and O-rings matched to the faucet’s make and replaced
- Two-handle bathroom faucets in older vanities, including ones that turn stiffly
- A new faucet set on the existing holes when the old one can’t be rebuilt
- Flexible supply lines replaced, and the angle stops under the sink exercised so they close
- Clogged aerators cleared, and the water run hot and cold before we leave
Who supplies your water, and what’s in it
San Gabriel is unusual in having several water companies. The City’s own FAQ puts it plainly: “the city of San Gabriel is serviced by five water companies,” though “most customers are serviced by the County Water District.” Your bill tells you which one is yours.
For County Water District homes, the district’s 2025 Consumer Confidence Report gives hardness as 17 to 200 ppm with an average of 97.4. Those dissolved minerals are what leave a white crust on an aerator and a gritty feel on a cartridge we pull out of an old faucet. Hard deposits wear the rubber seals, and that wear is usually where the drip starts.
The houses are older, too. Census figures for 2020–2024 put the median year built for San Gabriel’s homes at 1957, and 2,444 of 13,818 homes were built in 1939 or earlier. Bathrooms in those houses often keep two-handle faucets whose parts are still sold, so a rebuild is often possible.
When it’s a plumber’s job instead
A leak inside the wall, an angle stop that snaps or won’t shut, or galvanized pipe that crumbles as we loosen a fitting all go to a plumber. We turn off what we can, explain what we saw, and can return for the faucet once the pipe is repaired.
Before you text
Take one photo of the faucet straight on and one from inside the cabinet showing both shutoffs, then text both to (626) 684-3505. A brand name off the base or handle helps us bring the right cartridge.
Questions about faucet visits
Do I get a heads-up before you arrive?
Yes. We send a text as we leave for your place.
What if the shutoff under the sink fails while you’re there?
We stop and talk to you before doing anything beyond the quote. You hear the added cost first, and nothing extra happens unless you say yes.
Do you bring the cartridge, or do I buy it?
It depends on the faucet. Common cartridges we can bring; for a less common brand, you may prefer to order the part or the new faucet yourself, and we install it.
I rent. Can I still book this?
Yes. Renters book with us all the time, and if the owner wants to arrange it, a key or lockbox code works for access.
How do I pay?
We accept most common payment methods. Ask when you book if you want to confirm yours.
