Jobs we take
- Outlets and switches
- Worn, loose or cracked devices; dimmers at existing switches.
- GFCI outlets
- Kitchens, baths, laundry and garage locations.
- Ceiling fans
- At an existing fan-rated box, balanced.
- Light fixtures
- Vanity, pendant, flush-mount and porch lights.
- Bath fans and LED trims
- Fans replaced in their opening; recessed cans fitted with LED trims.
Boxes in older houses
Ceiling boxes in pre-1950s houses were generally made for light fixtures, not fans, and some older outlets are two-prong. We check each box and fit a fan-rated brace where a fan is going in.
Before you call: what to check
- Use a plug-in outlet tester to see whether an outlet is grounded.
- Reset GFCIs in bathrooms and the garage if a group of outlets goes dead.
- Turn off the breaker, not just the switch, before touching a fixture.
